3.5/5
Farzi is an enthralling 2023 Indian comedy-crime thriller television series about counterfeit money, masterfully created, produced, and directed by RAJ & DK, who also co-wrote the series alongside Sita Menon and Suman Kumar. The show boasts an impressive ensemble cast of talented actors who deliver captivating performances that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The standout performances come from Shahid Kapoor as Sandip, also known as Sunny and The Artist, Vijay Sethupathi as Michael Vedanayagam, and Raashii Khanna as Megha Vyas. Kapoor's mannerisms as The Artist are a delight to watch, while Sethupathi's presence on screen is captivating. Khanna's beauty and her Hindi accent add a unique charm to her character, and her performance is truly impressive. As expected, Amol Palekar gave justice to his iconic Middle Class character.

The friendship between Sunny and Firoze, portrayed by Bhuvan Arora, is heartwarming and makes for an enjoyable viewing experience. However, the show failed to capitalize on the immense potential of K K Menon, who plays the role of Mansoor Dalal, a notorious criminal mastermind who leads a counterfeit network in India, headquartered in Jordan.

The show's dark color tone complements the storyline and adds to the suspense and tension. The connection to another Indian web series, 'Family Man', comes as a surprise and is an intriguing element. However, the family drama of Michael feels superfluous and does not contribute any additional value to the storyline. It also does not provide any character development for Michael.
The action choreography could have been more impressive, but overall, Farzi is an enthralling and captivating show that is not just an action series but a darkly humorous thriller. It is available to stream on Amazon Prime, and if you're a fan of crime dramas, this show is definitely worth a watch. With its gripping plot and thrilling action sequences, Farzi is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
